8500 + People Have Died In China And It’s Already “old News”?
Posted by China Sourcing CommentatorOct 19
You would think the Yahoo news and other sources would be covering the China quake disaster like a lawyer chasing an ambulance!
But NOOO, Yahoo’s TOP story:
Flowers are losing their scent.
What an F’ed up World we live in!
Your opinions on the state of the World?
Are we fixin’ to shake hands with the Dodo Bird?

OH NO! FLOWERS ARE LOSING THEIR SCENT?!?! WHATEVER WILL I DO?! *runs around in a major panic for the next two weeks*
*mutter*
Now what was it… oh yeah “It’s not nice to fool Mother Nature…”
She’s in charge here, and I know dang well she don’t like a lot of us (probably why she’s giving us earthquakes in china, fires in florida, everything else going on that’s not making national or international news, probably also why she’s taking away the scent of flowers if you think about it…) and I can’t blame her, cuz I don’t like us either.
My opinions on the state of the world? Well, I’d prefer to see a big chunk of the human population die due to natural disaster than by war. Let those who can survive in a situation where there is still ~something~ there to survive on keep going. I think a good 1/3 to 1/2 of the world’s population gone and a big chunk out of our infrastructure would be a good start. MAKE people start relying on what they take for granted and don’t know anything about… the weak will die off, civilization as we know it will be a thing of the past, and the smart ones will run off into the wilderness somewhere and start anew while the people who want to hang onto what we have now will stay and loot and kill each other off.
You got your spot picked out yet? I do.
Ok… if people didn’t think I was a little loopy before, I bet they do now… and ya know what? I DON’T CARE!! This IS an F’ed up world, and it’s all because of us, and there’s too many of us who don’t care about anything beyond our own comfort and happiness for anything to change. It’s gonna get a WHOLE lot worse before it gets better.
As for Jesus, well, he’s a nice guy, and if you want to go with him, that’s your own business. I personally think some will have to be left behind to marvel at the vast ruins left behind by this mysterious culture that somehow just crumbled into nothing…
So no, I don’t think we’re gonna shake hands with the Dodo, but maybe we’ll get to shake hands with oh… Ivory Billed Woodpeckers, Black Rhinos, things like that that are just on the verge…. It’ll be good for us to be put back into the equation of evolution.
Good to see you back SMC, maybe its just me! lol. I couldn’t agree more regarding this situation in both china and also Burma, both are tough situations and Burma even more so, especially since the short term aid cant get through to those who need it, at least China is getting aid. Now for the rest of your question, i agree, i don’t think that people have forgotten nor have the aid organizations, i believe the only thing yahoo and any other news cares about is a good story, nothing else, something that will make them look good and have an exclusive article on even if it is flowers losing their scent.
I didn’t even realise this was the fishing section – I was too interested in reading your question. I agree, the media are mixed up really. It’s the same when there is information with regard to someone who has been murdered and yet they would rather talk about how fat Britney Spears is looking – That’s why I take certain media sites with a pinch of salt and read about the stuff I need to know about from the good news sites.
I don’t know where you are looking but it is the first story listed under In The News – I didn’t see anything about flowers without scent. It’s also the first story under World with Myanmar right after it.
The state of the world – I think Christ will be coming back soon as so much is happening that has already been foretold.
406,000 Americans died in WWII, why isn’t that still in the news? Should each dead person in the world get their own day as the top news story? No. It’s sad but it happens. The coverage is still out there, it just isn’t the top story – if so, it would take years to watch the news since everything would be repeated every time.
ummmmmmmmm,,,,,,,, this is guna make me look bad but you asked sooooo,,,, i dont care about china,,,or flowers,,, or that god-nuts think jesus is cumin,,,, its like those”feed these 3rd world kids” adds,,,,,send mony to help Pablo eat,,,no,,,i wont,,, not when i see AMERICAN kids starving in my own town,,,, fix america first then worry about the uther countrys,,,you know,,, the ones that hate us???
Yahoo=USA
USA people only care for themselves and their country and not for what is going on outside US. They mistakely think that they are the world.
that’s why all other nations (excpet probably Israel) hates them!http://www.picable.com/Nature/Sunsets/Su…
its sad to know so many many people have died in china.Well we all have to go in some form or another. its are deeds of the past which we have to clear off &try not to add on more wrong deeds so that our circle of clearing goes on &on
Death is a part of everyday life, like it or not, it will happen, and it china, its really not surprising, sad but it will happen
The China quake is still being followed. But you have to realize that headlines are usually news of the day.
I agree that the order that people decide to put news stories is absurd.
actualy is more like 15 000
yes you are right its not some thing that should be taken lightly but just like you said its a f up world
yall gonna talk shitt about me when im dead
Come on now. It’s Yahoo. Aside from Y/A they don’t bring much to the table. MSNBC and AOL…ect ectstill have the China story on the Front page. It’s just Yahoo. And whoever said Yahoo=America is just a Knuckle Head. The Yahoo writing team is just bad thats all there is too it.
I don’t think we are going to be shaking hands with the Dodo Bird anytime soon. I tend to avoid the news. I mean yes the world is messed up, but the media is a big help is bringing out all of the bad things we humans have to offer. I mean when was the last time the Media covered the good things that happen around our planet?
Edit….The Story is back on the front page of yahoo.
15,000 have died. It’s on the Yahoo front page right now. It’s a tragedy in another country halfway around the world. Other than getting out the checkbook or praying for the victims. What can we do? I don’t think we should hang our heads. We should reflect and accept that these people died. Only their government will be able to figure out what went wrong and how to prevent it in the future. The world is not ending, quit being such a doomslayer. That’s the attitude that brings others down. Before you know it everyone is sayin, yeah this whole world sucks. Then all the dreggs and hypocrits come out. Chanting it on, the world is evil, technology is killing us, the planet is dying! Listen, if you own a car and obviously a computer cause your reading this and your still b*tching about how screwed up things are. SHUT UP! You are just as much to blame as the rest of us. Only people living in log cabins going on like it’s the 1800′s are good non-polluting people. Last time I checked, I ain’t seen too many of them around. We are talking about China on the Fishing Forum. Look, instead going on about it here, hop on a plane and go volunteer to help. Last, screw the Media. Since when have these bottomfeeders contributed anything worthy to this country. But we eat their crap every day don’t we……… the world ends when it ends…..till then trying being a decent person and live your life.
Sorry about how some people think that it’s old news. The death toll is now standing at 15,000 and another 25,000 unaccounted for at the last news wire. Even scarier than that is the fact that the death toll in Myanmar is between 60,000 and 100,000 by U.N. accounts and aid not getting to them will add to the casualty tolls. In fact another cyclone is near there and will indeed bring more bad weather. just what they need. Little help and more rain or another cyclone.
They way some people and governments act, I can’t believe we are merely looking to shake hands with the dodo birds but to build nest right with them.
It seems the world blows and mankind is dumb enough to swallow hook line and stinker anything but something that might be used to help us. Or to make us aware of the important things in life.
Mankind is too busy watching how Brittany Spears shows up to court over custody of her kids to really care that almost 150,000 people died in just two major world disasters in just a week.
And if that’s not sad state of the news look at the tornado’s that killed at least 21 people through the Midwest part of the U.S. Monday. Yet people are hearing about 3 in 10 households get more cell phone calls than land based phones.
Your right our priorities suck bad!!
My opinion on the world is that sh*t happens. It always has, it always will. 6.5 BILLION people live on a planet that is struggling to survive our ever needing greed for new toys and cars and gadgets that do nothing but pollute this world more and more until one day, we will all kill ourselves.
The disaster in China is too bad… but this world has so many people in it, a disaster every now and then is just keeping the population somewhat level.
Imagine no disasters, no wars, no poverty… Imagine if we gave all the hippies and peace lovers in this world what they wanted… think we would be living in peace? No. We would have about 20+ BILLION people on this planet, and it would of been destroyed long ago. More people requires more transport, heating, buildings, air conditioning and all the comforts that make us want to live in this god forsaken world… Just imagine if we had 3.5 times the amound of cars on the road. 3.5 times the amount of houses. 3.5 times the population to push us to 20 Billion. Global warming would of destroyed us long ago.
Reality… murders, genocide, terrorism, war and accidents kill people every day and it keeps this world’s population level. Sh*t happens. It can’t be stopped by keeping a news report on it.
If my family died tomorrow in a natural disaster, it would be sad… but it’s just what happens in this world. Reporting on it isn’t going to make it go away.
