THERE can be no swift victory in Korea until United Nations troops are heavily reinforced. Two or three extra divisions would provide a reserve or, if landed boldly far north of the battle front – were that practicable – might precipitate a crisis for the enemy. But in default of a military miracle or a Wellsian secret weapon, at least eight fresh, well equipped divisions will be needed to crush this ugly and humiliating threat.
