After WWII US is enjoying as super power in the world. Policing all over the world. threatening small countries. But if China is super power we cannot do all this. We kill Saddam of Iraq to save our dollar. If China is strong we cannot kill Chavez of Venezuela and Ahmadinejad of Iran. No policing anywhere. Because we have to keep thinking for our bread and butter.
America is, first of all, terrified of not being the richest and most powerful nation in the world. It’s very arrogant. How sad it would be for us to be bullied, for a change. As I understand it, that’s basically what the fear is.
1) Given a limited supply of (processed) petroleum in the world, and given the incredibly fast-growing consumption of gasoline in China, gas prices in the US & elsewhere are only going to increase.
Higher gas prices impact all other prices, causing the general price inflation the US is experiencing now.
2) Chinese factories do not face the same human rights, environmental, and quality regulations that factories in the US face. Manufacturers in China have a huge cost advantage over US manufacturers. The current weak dollar only partially offsets this advantage.
