if you have like lamps on either side of the couch, you can go matchy matchy with the same lamps and shades on either side. i kick i up a notch by having ‘different but similar’ lamps. say in my dining room, i have a bunch of depression and art deco clear glass lamps with the same shade. one is made of stacked glass cubes that have a small flower etched on it. the other is a clear depression glass with a bunch of little spikes called ‘hob nail’ the other is a buffet lamp of clear glass globe at the base but a brass rod that comes up to hold the shade/bulb. they are all glass, and all have the same shade but are clearly DIFFERENT lamps.
Depends on how you living room looks not if its organized or not, chances are though that you should use two of the same
It’s your house! Do whatever pleases you. If you want one this color and one that color…just make sure they coordinate well.
Having two in your living room that are exactly alike shows coordination, but having two different ones is unique.
Do what you think would look best.
if the tables match, the lamps should match.
all rules are made to be broken, but normally that’s the way it is done professionally.
