I don’t trust their spring assisted knives anymore. I had a brand new one I had barely used and when I opened it one day to cut some rope it just broke, wouldn’t stay open, it just flopped around. Had I been in a situation where my life depended on it, I would have been dead.
Their lifetime warranty replaced it, but I do not carry it anymore.
Yes…Good bye Gerber…
No More Chinese Junk…
Also, why are you wanting to continue to support a company that has outsourced their labor? You are supporting a company that fired US workers to employ Chinese at a wage considered here as poverty…or they use the Chinese penal system for labor.
It does Bother me. Same way with Schrade. But I do know about them now. Gerbers Quality may have gone down a tad, but not too bad. The Chinese are really coming along in the knife making and heat treating industry. The only problem I myself have encountered is that the steel is a bit softer now. This means it doesnt hold an edge as long. This also means its simple to put an edge on, however.
Hope I helped, Bud.
Yeah that bothers me alot, that seems to be the trend, all of the homegrown companies are making there stuff in China now.I bought an American flag just before the 4th of July, guess where it was made?
It’s cheap labor. It sucks that jobs are taken away from U.S citizens…but when you really think about it…who would mainly be working at those factories if they were located here in the US? Probably Mexican Immigrants who would send all the money back to Mexico.
Sad.
Yes it doe’s. when are the American people going to wake up? Look at the value of the dollar ! The whole country is for sale and at the bargain basement at that!!
These days anything made in China bothers me.
The fact that anything is made in China bothers me. Long live Fairbairn-Sykes!
We send all of our steel to China
Just makes sense that American companies have to go there to find it again
yep alot!
yeah it does, when theres no jobs left in the u.s. it’ll bother you to.
