It is a bunch of crap. I wasted my whole day today in a four hour interview of buying into their cult concept.
Fact: I have been a professional actor(On broadway for over ten years. I was burned out from auditioning, acting, ect….but didn’t want to leave the business, so thought this might be a another ave. to explore.
Fact: NOBODY should be paying ANYONE to be represented. You pay them after they book a job for you.
Fact #2: After leaving the four hour seminar and having the last five minutes being being told that it’s strictly commission based…..After spending FOUR HOURS!!!!
.I went to a restaurant for lunch to ponder the fact of making this career change. I then approached a very “marketable” waitress with a great look about coming into this agency (ONE SOURCE TALENT) if I did take this job..
She told me she went though something like this four years ago, spent something like $700 and never even got a call for any auditions.
This waitress reafirmed my GUT feeling. This is a scam.
If you want to be a scout for then you will basically be ripping off nice people who know nothing about this business by telling them nice things about their look and how much they can work. If you have a concience, this is not the job for you.
If you like ripping kids/mothers off by charging them $400 down, $30 a month and putting non professional pics on a website nobody looks at then go right in.
THEY WILL ACCEPT ANYONE.
All you get a s a scout is $100 a person you rip off, oops, I mean sign.
STAY AWAY from all the glitter they promise.
I had a an interview scheduled for today at 10:30am. They say the interview will last a couple of hours so I took reasonable amt of time off my reg. job to attend. Even though I suspected that this org. may be a rip-off, I procrastinated on researching them. This morning I woke up extra early to do just that. Upon typing in “one source talent” into the Google search engine, I read one report after another that confirmed my suspicions through an online consumers report called, “Rip-off Report”. They may not be totally reliable and biased, but the reports from others that I read there, confirmed my first gut-instinct. I’ll take advantage of taking a little extra time out of my reg. job, but will definitely be going in earlier than planned, because I have no intention of attending that interview and wasting my time. You may follow your own heart about this. I am.
Good luck.
