generally it is the lower end of the programming jobs which are outsourced.
America moves up the scale of development as it outsources the unwanted jobs.
The short answer is that it does not help the average American. What it helps (or at least it is supposed to help) is the company’s bottom line where they can hire several Indian workers for what it would cost to hire 1 American worker at a decent, liveable wage.
It is my experience, that in most cases it does not help anyone except the indians. While the the American companies THINK they are reducing their costs, ultimately additional communication, management and other costs eat into the savings. At the same time, moral of the remianing employees takes a beating and when multiplied by hundreds and thousands of companies ultimatel effects the economy and their bottom lines
then stop preaching about global economy to the world.
