How Is China Still Socialist If It Has A Market Economy?

China now is becoming more market-oriented, but I am still confused as to how China is still socialist.
If China is becoming increasingly market-oriented, how does it still have a socialist system? What characteristics of China make it a socialist state?

China has something called “market socialism.” This means the state owns much of the assets in the economy, whether it be certain industries (usually “commanding heights”), or a large percentage of the companies, but the government doesn’t set the prices. In a fully socialized economy, the government planning board sets prices, and tries to control both the supply and demand in the economy.
China still adheres to Marxist Ideology, and has a one-party system. They have been adapting/reevaluating their definition of Marxism as they have become more involved with international trade.

And some theorists see a free capitalistic society as the end result of a communist revolution. (Revolution, Dictatorship/Totalitarian State, Proletariat Equal Rule).
China is still somewhat socialist by the dominance of the Party’s dominance, and it’s political/social behaviors prohibitions.

edit: cos i lived in china for 5 years and i feel i should answer this. it just a thought that this isn’t the best time that’s all.
Socialist means the government administers social programs.
Technically USA is socialist because it administers social security, medicare, etc…
It has almost nothing to do with the economy, except that it is harder to run some social programs if the economy is bad.

Lets just say “The People” don’t have a say in the Government.
