How Would The Us Stop An Invasion From China?
Posted by China Sourcing CommentatorFeb 28
Picture this: Some years down the road, the supply of some vital resource gets so scarce that it causes global war. China lands in Alaska and marches down through Canada into the United States. We hold them off for a while but the end is inevitable. The entire western half of the US becomes occupied territory.
Eventually, the survivors in the west are trapped behind enemy lines. Those who headed for the hills in the beginning are using guerrilla warfare tactics on the occupying force. Basically only fighting small battles they know they can win and stying light and mobile.
That would make a pretty good movie or book, huh?

THE DAY China invades the u.s. is the last day for humanity… its nuclear war…
It will never happen. They don’t have the Navy, That means they would have to go through USSR which they would fry themselves with nukes.
Now if the Demo give it all away then yes study up on your Chang-lee
There are a lot of problems with this, but I will treat it like you are honestly wanting an answer.
First, we have eyes in the sky looking at them at all times, and it would be almost impossible to build the number of watercraft required to bring any large force to the shores of the U.S. They would have to deflect or defeat in detail a great deal of our naval and air assets, or we could just pick them off at our leisure. Think about it; they have literally thousands of miles of unfriendly ocean to cross and we have very, very good submarines and other naval and air assets.
I don’t know for sure, but even a super-tanker that has been surrepticiously converted to carry combat troops can only carry what, a thousand troops? What about their tanks? What about their ammunition resupply? Food? Close your eyes and try to imagine how many ships there would have to be to carry enough armed combat troops to make a difference.
It took us almost six months just to put 350,000 troops and their equipment in Saudi Arabia for the Gulf War, and we are acknowledged as the world experts in troop and equipment transportation – and that was without ANY resistance. I guarantee you that they would see resistance to this from the U.S. I know that I would not want to be trying to land troops amongst an armed populace, and in Alaska I suspect most people are armed in some way or the other.
Moving the troops is the easy part, assuming you can secure a landing place on the U.S. mainland, a difficult prospect, in the least. But to move their heavy combat equipment; well, China is not currently capable of doing anything close to that. It would take years and years to build up a force that would be capable of doing that, and we most certainly would be watching. Remember, the real reason that Taiwan is still Taiwan is because the Chinese are not capable of mounting a viable threat across the the relatively small body of water between the two of them, and there is a lot more water to get to the U.S. than to get to Taiwan.
Even if they were able to land in Alaska in some force (and I just don’t see how they could do that without a LOT of help from a LOT of other countries), they would have a LONG way to go to hit the mainland, and it would be a very long and painful journey into a hornet’s nest, I suspect. How do they get the number of tanks onto the mainland that it would require to overwhelm U.S. defenses? More important, their logistics supply chain would be many thousands of miles long, and they would be going up against one of the most productive nations on earth with NO logistics supply line stretched out behind them. The issues of quality of weapons is another whole story that would be impossible to go into in this forum. Even if they could get the soldiers here, which I sincerely doubt, they would still have to supply them and keep them combat ready.
Overall, I refuse to say that anything is completely impossible, but I would think that it would be very, very difficult, if NOT impossible. I would love to read other people’s HONEST take on this.
Hannity and Limbaugh would enlist and take care of business!!!
Why invade? To get our money and natural resources? They already get that.
I think Walmart has done a fine job of defending any chance China would ever think of invading the US.
they would never make it to the shore… we have the biggest and most powerful navy on the planet, and the 2 biggest oceans as our back-yard…
besides, i´d like to see somebody try to march through alaska and canada…. real rugged territory up there….
interesting though…
is war the only thing you Americans think about?
take away all their trade agreements with us….the country would fold quicker than a pop up tent.
Well since China doesn’t really have a Navy,
Just how would they land soldiers in Alaska ?
You have any idea just how many ships would be needed for China to land a sizable force anywhere ?
6,800 ships were needed for the D-Day invasion.
And since China, would have to sail around both South Korea and Japan , on their way to Alaska,
Don’t ya think we might know about it long before hand ?
RUN!
I think it has already been done, except it was Russia (and some nasty Cubans) instead of China. See ‘Red Dawn’ (1984), a terrible movie directed by John Milus.
Its already a movie, except it was about Russian’s invading, and it was called Red Dawn. Sorry to spoil your idea, but it was done a long time ago- rent the movie, its really fun to watch, and has a lot of very young soon to be stars in it.
Sounds a lot like Red Dawn.
But in reality, the US Navy/Air Force would simply sink all their ships before they landed in Alaska.
We would have made our stand in Alaska and Northern Canada to trap them in icy winters. They would not be able to get enough troops if it was through Alaska alone. through the sea, our navy is stronger so we would have killed millions before they land in our shores. Write a book, but be more creative in plot or interview someone who analyzed how China might invade and devised plans of defense for the US.
The Candian secret forces would wipe them out before they ever got to the contiguous states, but sssshhh don’t tell anyone that we’ve actually got an army. There’s not many of us, but we’re plenty tough. We’ll bash them over their heads with our hockey sticks…
”The truth is out there”
No way to stop them…..
Look at our borders in the Southwest, we can’t even stop illegals coming from Mexico. 12 million illegals have come into the country since 9/11, and that’s with a new “Homeland Security Program” in place.
WOLVERINES!!!!
They have already invaded and won without firing a shot. Look at the trade deficit and the once king of retail walmart. Walmart used to boast that everything they sold was made in the USA now go into their store and all you find in MADE IN CHINA. We lost.
Are you deliberately trying to stir the crazy pot?
First of all, China would never get across the Pacific. We have 12 nuclear powered super carriers, they have 0. They are building lots of ships, but they are all cruisers, destroyers, and submarines.
Furthermore, if by some miracle, they got across the Pacific, and things were looking bad for us, we have nukes. Best guesses put China’s nuclear arsenal at about 200-300. We have ~10,000.
I just don’t see any realistic scenario where they could successfully invade or conquer us. They could hurt us certainly, but they couldn’t win.
Well, let me clarify that statement. They could win if we elect another Democrat like Clinton that eviscerated the military.
china has 2,000,000 troops on the panama canal, and ports up and down the west coast. they don’t need canada. empty oil tankers make for big troop movements.
the only reason that china hasn’t invaded us yet is our second amendment. they know we’ll shoot back.
china has a billion people, and they’ve been doubling their military force annually for years. i’m gonna eat a cookie now.
Did they use tactical nukes to soften the ground?
Has our defense weakened to the point where we couldn’t destroy ground forces before they deployed?
Lots of questions. I don’t think a formidable hoard (much less an army) will survive the hunger and plague your scenario suggests .
Remember what Einstein said, “I don’t know which weapons will be used in WW III, but WW IV will be fought with sticks and stones.”
You could not possibly get troops though the small straights to create a threat. Your concept is probably good but not based on mass of troops.
You might have a better possibility if they come from the newly opened Northern Passage.
A 50,000,000 Chinaman army would be hard to stop!!! That is why god invented 20 mega tonners
