I am looking into data warehousing to join data from disparate systems. End users and business managers would like to interact with business information. they would like to ask questions get answers, drill down and add other data from other sources. this is all without any program language skills. i have looked at Business Objects what works for you and do you have any experience of BO in this field?

The solution can SAP XI infrastructure 3.0, with SAP Portal 6.0 and SAP BW 3.5.
A lot of money are needed for installatione and configuration (I think at least 500.000$), but at the end you will obtain what you are asking in a browser interface.
