China is communist, period. You do not ‘own’ anything in a communist state, everything is owned by the government and they allow you to use it. Therefore, if they are building a new road or in the case of the olympics a new stadium and they need your land you move without compensation. You earn a specific wage which is limited by the government and you can only consume what the government allows you to consume. If you’re allowed a loaf of bread a week then that’s all you get. The government dictates everything from religion to your procreation.
China is by definition Socialist and have recently opened their economy to allow a limited free market.
China is turning capitalist. It won’t be long and China will be the new consumer, most likely leaving the U.S. a third world country.
