if the answer is falters, then shouldn’t the U.S. isolate China like we’re doing with Cuba?

Hard to say… because it’s really in their ballcourt… their economy has grown dramatically due to capitalistic reforms since Mao was in power, and they understand that… they’re not really die-hard Communists like they were in Mao’s time, and they have been implementing the Chinese equivalents of Perestroika and Glastnost.. so really, it’s just a matter of time until they liberalize into Capitalism and Democracy, in my opinion, and embargo would be incredibly damaging both to our economy and the progress they’ve already made towards liberalization, as it would further demonize the West in the Chinese mind.
China was on the path to communism.
Capitalist elements were introduced.
If it begins to see capitalism as a failure, it will try to reverse its decision to open markets by centralizing power of the eocnomy where the corporations tell the government what is best for the economy, and the government organizes the economy is a way to benefit the businesses.
They already have a nationalsit mentality, it would take long to tip the scale to fascism. And that would be most likely what would have to happen for them to keep their people in line.
When that occurs you can be happy that your Walmart dollars supported their huge military industrial complex.
i think if it falters we can expect a war. china has been on the road to capitalism during the bush years. if it all comes down, though, i see them snapping back to hardline communism. one way or the other they intend to compete. communism requires expansion to succeed.
if it falters, the totalitarian regime will tighten its grip
only through prosperity, better education, and the spread of the internet can Democracy come to China
I think they are fakers above all…false products, cheap manufacturing, a planned commercial invasion to all their investors…watch out!
aint going to happen china has been th way they are for thousands of years. it will keep on being that way.
