Is This True? “wikitravel China: Drugs Are Generally Available From A Pharmacist Without Prescriptions.”?

If so, where would one find a list of Chinese over the counter drugs?
I assume some drugs are not available over the counter such as heroin, ecstacy, or cocaine, but perhaps they are available, just prohibitively expensive so people buy from illicit sources instead.

Drugs like those being used in common ailments are available without prescription. Some which are schedule/restricted drugs are hard to find without a prescription but there are many pharmacists which will oblige you.
As for heroin, ecstacy, or cocaine I have no idea. But surely you will not find it with a pharmacist. They have strict restrictions on such drugs but with corruption and bribery calling the roost who can say that they will not be available at all.
Anyway as a visiting tourist I will advise you to refrain from procuring any of such drugs by whatsoever means. You may be in serious trouble.
is it English not your native language or something?…
have you ever seen the word “drugstore”?…
not every kind of “pills” let you fly…
“drugs for fun” are illegal in China…
death penalty for producing, keeping, carrying, selling, mentioning them… (well, twas kidding about mentioning but all above is true)
nobody wants “Opium Wars 3″
no no no..
Drugs as in medicine. Not drugs like cocaine, and heroin.
