Just how dependent is the world economy at present on China growing at its current rate, and is this growth likely to dip (a lot) once the Olympics are over?

It is more dependent on China being able to keep their currency artificially deflated, as this makes their goods artificially cheap around the world.
If they have to abandon their current peg, the price of Chinese goods will rise sharply…the world economy at present is more dependent on cheap Chinese stuff.
Their fast economic growth is a result of that.
The world is not dependent on China, China is dependent on the U.S . That is why they killed the plant operator of the dog food that was bad,and that is why they killed the guy that used led in the paint for the Mattel toys. They kill any one that would jeopardize their relations with the U.S. because they need our money to stabalize their economy. IF we would not have signed an agreement with China to let them make a bunch of crap for us, they would have folded as a nation. Communits countries can only survive for about 50-60 years, and then they die, because they have no new money. That is why North Korea is trying so hard to take America hostage and when our president would not be threatened by their leader they started to make fake American money. Millions of dollars of fake American money. We busted them and now they are in danger of collaspe. IF we close our doors on China they too would collaspe. Communisum can not sustain itself. IF we want to weaken our enemies we just have to quit buying their crap. And that is what we should be doing!!!!!
It s all the global trade that fosters development in national economies, China also being a part of it. Olympics, though a spectacular event, does not decide fate of Chinese economy, mind China being the second largest economy in the world now. The massive infrastructure growth for Olympics will help China in years to come.
As the world is being leveled out, every nation and especially the under-dog developing nations will take care of building, honing, competitive advantages they have. This will all benefit world economy as more people, nations join this global mainstream economy. And China will remain key player before and after the Olympics as well.
