My Employers Are Outsourcing My Department And My Role No Longer Exist. Do I Have To Work My Notice/leave?

The copany I work for is outsourcing my department. The current role I have, will become obsolete. What are my legal rights, If I do not want to work my noice period. And I am entitled to Garden leave and Notice period payment.

If this is a company of any considerable size you should contact your H.R. department. Ask them your questions directly. If you are indeed on your way out then there probably is no need to hide what you are getting at.. As in don’t take what ever some one on yahoo!answers tells you as the gospel.
From my personal experience I would recommend showing up all the days you are scheduled to work. But don’t work too hard or stay late. And do your best to use up all your vacation and sick leave.

If you quit you would not than be entitled to your unemployment benefits. Unless the company agrees to let you go or they force you into part time or cut your pay.
