Were There Any Sort Of Lamps During The Time Of Romeo And Juliet?

By the time of Romeo and Juliet I mean the 1600′s. Can you describe what type it was if you could. Please don’t tell me there weren’t any lamps because there isn’t electricity, lamps an operate without electricity.
Thanks.

Yes, they had neon lamps.
Yes, there were oil lamps which had a wick to draw up the oil from the reservoir. These had been around since Ancient Roman times.
There would also have been lanterns or ‘lanthorns’, which would be a receptacle made of glass or thin horn, with a candle inside it. There would also have been candelabras or chandeliers in grander houses where many candles would be burnt at once.
Finally there would be chamber sticks or candle sticks and rush lights that people would carry from room to room.
There were candles and the various fixtures people used to keep candles stable, I suppose. There might have been oil lamps, since those have been mentioned since the Bible, but I don’t think there was much else.
