The First Infantry Div. fought on the side of the Whites in the Winter War. That is part of the reason why there was so much enmity from the Soviet side prior to WWII. There wasn’t a whole lot that anyone could do with China. It was a disaster since the early part of the 19th century. Ironically the commies were the only faction who generally were decent to the peasants (until they took over of course).
USSR and other so called “Communist state”-s were not Communist.
I have wrote the whole thing here :http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?…
uggugug i learned that in geography today! i dunno!
GOOD LUCK!
sorry i can’t help!
The united states provided economic aid, during the cold war to prevent the spread of communism (containment).
The US used this as bargaining power over the soviets, to appease Stalin.
If the countries were to accept economic aid, they had to reject communism and siding with the soviet union.
The US also poured alot of money into supporting west germany, to show east germany how capitalism was more successful.
look up cold war and containment. http://www.wikipedia.org
