What Is The Real Story On The State Department Outsourcing Passport Services?

I heard as much as 70% of passport services workers are done by employees of companies that have contracts to do so. What I am wondering is …if all all those contractors are actually american citizens, or are they HB1 visa workers, or if even some of the work is being done in foreign countries. Anyone know???

I haven’t seen any stats on their country of origin. However, I’m not sure the background checks on the contractors is comparable to that of federal employees. That’s a bit worrying. There’s a LOT of sensitive information in their files. It would be an identity theft bonanza.
It is not Americans making your passports.. it is people in other countries.. so our passports are questionable immediately… Should be fun to travel to other countries when they all know that we have a problem.. why should they let us in.. they won’t be able to trust who in hell we are.. Most countries don’t want Americans anyway anymore, thanks to Bush.. now his governments incompetence has nailed our coffin shut. how incredibly stupid of the government..
