What School System Is Better And Why? American, British, Japan Or China?

I am in an American public school and I want to know how it compares to other countries. We are always being told that other countries children are so much better then us. That they do a lot more work and are never lazy! Well I want to know if its true. Feel free to give opinions and cite news paper articles or other trusted sources if you can. I only want information on state funded schools please. Thank You!

megatron is 100% right. the US has the top universities in the world. just look at the list. most are western schools and very few are in asia. those schools also would not be recognized if there was no western presence there. just look at china. they have universities but none are top of the world or even on the list. the people who are saying education system here is bad and kids are not learning is because kids here are lazy, not because of the system. if it was the system then there would not be many immigrants coming here to get their education. they could have stayed in their own country and do that.

Doesn’t matter about the school system, because most schools in 3rd world countries are far better then in the US, it’s up to the individual if they come from a family that emphasizes education and their parents push their kids to succeed, a good chunk of high school students in the US don’t take it seriously and just part take in smoking weed, parties, getting drunk and once they graduate high school their lost and don’t know what to do. It’s complete opposite in 3rd world countries where the school kids will graduate with a degree and still can’t find work.
In the US, everything is here for students, financial aid, scholarships, best schools, great teachers and people who want YOU to succeed.
If anything i would say China and Japan, because their culture is completely different their life depends on getting a high paying job and a degree or some sort of university education goes along with the family rep, I’ve heard cases where some students commit suicide if they don’t make it to a certain university.

It’s true many Americans are very lazy. Anyway, I know that down here in GA. the school system sucks. Many people in the town I live in can barely spell much less put a sentence together. I’d have to agree that the schools system is better in Japan . I provided a site you can look at that gives information on the school system in Japan. Children or most of them in America are to worried about going out and partying, football, or seeing who can get the most hook ups. Besides, if a girl is to dumb she can just sell her body for money or a guy can deal drugs. Look this is just how I see it from where I’ve lived.

God seriously, in 30 years I doubt America’s going to be the most powerful country in the world.
We have terrible school systems and only a small percentage of kids are getting a REAL education (most qualified teachers are terrible).
This is coming from a kid who has been to 15 schools, each in a different state (California, Pennsylvania, Maine, North Dakota, Texas, etc)
    during her childhood.
******Also, in China/Japan, kids learn Algebra in 5th/6th grade, and HERE, kids don’t learn algebra till 9th grade!

America has most of the world’s top 500 universities, but it blows when it comes to elementary and secondary education. If you compare the average students in elementary/highschool in the U.S., to their counterparts in Canada, Sweden, UK, Japan, or even some African countries like South Africa and Ghana, they get screwed in terms of the caliber of the graduates they turn out. It not that America doesn’t have the $$$$ to correct the problem, they just don’t feel like it. Too much politicking gets in the way

Japan is the best. Then Britain. China is the worst. In China, kids aren’t aloud to have minds of their own. American education isn’t the best, but at least we’re taught to think for ourselves and be individuals.

China and japan don’t allow kids to have a mind of their own
America has top universities, but their secondary education SUCKS (teens are too hip hop and rebellious)
So I guess Britain has the best school system
